The redwoods are only a minute from the car park so suitable for those with limited mobility. The trees themselves are amazing, and with wandering amongst them free - it's well worth it. When the sun is shining it's also a nice spot to have a picnic lunch.

We were back at The Redwoods over the Australia Day long weekend, for our second visit. The Redwoods is a magical place. There is a mystical air about the place, and even the cool and drizzly day didn't dampen our enjoyment. The drizzle did not penetrate the tree canopy so it was fairly dry in the forest. We explored further... More

Hidden down an old unsealed logging road near Beech Forest - follow directions to Hopetoun Falls to reach the Californian Redwoods. Hundreds were planted in 1938 and these now stand majestically around 60 metres tall and still. Its incredibly quiet, just the crunching of the forest floor as you wander through, there is barely a whisper among the redwoods, even... More

What an under-rated attraction! We only found out about the redwood forest quite by accident. It's a 15km journey down a twisty, rutted dirt track, but well worth the visit. The size of the trees has to be seen to be believed and the stillness inside the plantation is heavenly.

We visited on Christmas Day 2015 and as soon as we stepped within these incredibly tall trees, there was a palpable feeling of serenity and peace. It was like walking into a cathedral, a spiritual place that had an atmosphere that's difficult to describe. Ethereal. This would be the perfect place to sit quietly and reflect or meditate. There's a... More

Surreal experience coming across Californian redwood forest in the middle of the Otways. A nice contrast to the majestic mountain ash. Very easy access just off the road. Definitely on the must list for a visit to the Otways.

A "must see" on your journey along the Great Ocean Road. You will find it a highlight. The most beautiful, tranquil place.

Not too far down Binn’s Road (a logging road on the western side of Beech Forrest) and just past Hopetoun Falls, you will find this small but wonderful forest of Californian redwoods. Originally planted for a logging experiment in the 30’s, they have been left to grow. They create a forest that is mysterious and unique, quite unlike the unruly... More
